When to Apply

M.Sc and Ph.D. programs: from 01/07/2019 to 29/07/2019.

How to Apply

All applicants must fill out the appropriate online application form: Master Program or Ph.D. Program. The following documents must be attached to the online form: ID Photo, Undergraduate Transcripts (in a single PDF file), M.Sc. Transcripts (for Ph.D. Candidates, in a single PDF file).

Candidates who have taken the 2018 edition of  "Extramuros" exam and want their results to be considered in the evaluation should indicate that together with the exam id number. 

The recommenders indicated by the candidate in the application from will be directly contacted by the program. 

If accepted, when starting the program, applicants will be asked to provide copies of their passport, CPF (Brazilian Tax ID, to be obtained right after arriving in Brazil) and a registered diploma obtained in a recognized institution. The academic transcripts and the diploma must be apostilled (or certified) by the Brazilian Consulate Authority in the country where they were issued.

How the Process Works

An Admission Committee evaluates and ranks the applicants. Some applicants might have their acceptance subject to a good performance in specific courses offered in our Program. The Committee might require interviews (in person or remotely online) from some Ph.D. candidates.

Course Registration

Every semester (specific dates vary), students must register for courses or activities listed in their study plan, which must be pre-approved by the student's advisor.

In special cases, students may withdraw from the program for 1 semester. A registration will be permanently cancelled if the student:

1. Does not finish the program in the maximum stipulated time;

2. Fails the same exam twice, or different exams 3 times;

3. Does not mantain minimum performance, as determined by the Program.
